I Officially Hate My Job

Let's start with a list, shall we?

  1. It gives me panic attacks.
  2. My legs ache after a long day of work.
  3. I APPARENTLY SUCK AT IT!
Turns out that by this time next week, I may not have a job anymore. That's right. Even though I thought I was fast, customers have complained that I'm too slow. I have one week to improve substantially or I'm fired. I only got this just four weeks ago! I thought I had improved but apparently not. I even got a written notice and everything.

There's no way I can improve on my speed. I'm going as fast as I can. How sucky is this? I'm back on the hunt. Wish me luck. Thanks for listening to my mini-rant.

  1. Oh sweetie, I am so sorry to hear about that. No question that it is a super hard job, and when people are so grouchy and pushy about it, that just makes it harder. What really makes me mad it that they aren't giving you time to get faster - that is something that just comes with experience and practice, and that takes time, and will come eventually (if that happens). On the other hand, I do think you'd be happier with an office type job, or maybe even in a library (I know those jobs are hard to come by, but sometimes there's a website with library jobs in the region). I know advice is usually more irritating than helpful, but have you asked your teacher? Sometimes schools know about jobs, and she could be helpful that way? Anyway, I feel for you. I still remember some of those restaurant jobs I had when I was back in school (I sucked at them, for sure). This too shall pass, don't take it personally, you are a wonderful amazing girl, and not everything is for everybody.

  2. Thanks Fred! I only have a week. But whatever. I've already applied for another job working just a cash register, because I'm good AND fast as that! I will try the local library. I believe I heard one of the librarians say something about getting someone else up there.

    I actually don't mind advice! :)

    Thanks again!

  3. Good that you've got some things going already, hope they work out! And thanks for saying that about the advice thing, sometimes I just can't help it ;)
